All About Reception
Reception year is a time of great change for both children and their parents. It is a very exciting time for children and we have a lot of experience in helping them adjust to school life.
Term 5 and 6
All Aboard...
This term classes 1 and 2 are all aboard the pirate ship for a voyage of adventure and discovery!
We will be taking part in lots of exciting pirate activities as well as learning to tell a pirate story all by ourselves.
Term 3 and 4
Lights, Camera, Action
This term classes 1 and 2 will be entering the fictional deep, dark wood where the Gruffalo and his friends live. We will be learning to tell the story of the Gruffalo using actions to help us to remember the events, as well as creating our own class Gruffalo using a range of materials and techniques. Later in the term we will be finding out about nocturnal creatures and their habitats as well as planting seeds in our outdoor area.
Term 1 and 2
Frozen in Time
This term classes 1 and 2 will be thinking about how they have changed over time. We will be talking about ourselves and our families and begin to understand that even though not all families are the same, they are all still special. Our new outdoor area will provide us with lots of opportunities to take our learning outside and this will include looking at seasonal changes.
