All About Year 1
In Year 1 children move from the Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1. We continue to build upon the progress the children have made during their Reception year and to encourage greater independence in subtle ways.
Term 5 and 6
Where in the World?
This term Year 1 will be exploring the world around them with Buxton Bear. He will take them on journeys around the school and local area, using maps they have created themselves.
With their newly found geographical knowledge, they will take a trip around the UK and even hop across the water to Ecuador. Look out for us on our adventure!

Term 3 and 4
Time Traveller
Classes 3 and 4 will venture back in time, alongside Mr Benn, the ordinary bowler-hatted office worker who lives in the ordinary suburban street of Festive Road.
As the children try on different costumes in a mysterious costume shop, they step into a different time and place.
On their travels they explore toys both past and present and examine what they are made of.
They will time travel to Victorian times and discover the importance of the monarchy and celebrate the forthcoming royal wedding
Term 1 and 2
Hocus Pocus
This term, Classes 3 and 4 will be exploring the magic of ‘Hocus Pocus’ with Meg and Mog.
They will accompany Meg and Mog to the zoo, through the fog and help organise a party.
On their journey they will explore and make lists, magic potions and a short film, whilst investigating animals and experiencing life at the local Animal Shelter.
